Polaroid Lifts and Transfers
This is my page for Alternative photography which is the old style photographic Emulsion Lift and Transfer using Polaroid 669 film.
The result is a cross between a Photograph and a work of Art.
My Artwork with alternative photography begins with a camera containing slide film. After processing the slide film is then mounted and placed inside a Vivitar slide printer to capture the image on Polaroid 669 film. The emulsion or “image” from the Polaroid film is then transferred onto watercolour paper either by Polaroid Lift method or Polaroid transfer. No two images will ever be exactly the same due to the nature of the transfer so are quite unique.
The beauty of the polaroid lift is that it can be transferred to other mediums beside watercolour paper and can look great on tiles that bring out a rustic quality and texture to the image.
